Union Home Minister to Inaugurate KHELO INDIA YOUTH GAMES TODAY

Haryana State is fully geared up to host the 4th edition of the KHELO INDIA YOUTH GAMES 2021 this evening.  The games will be formally inaugurated by Mr. Amit Shah Home Minister of India who will also be the CHIEF GUEST at the opening ceremony of this Grand Sports Festival.
Mr. Anurag Thakur Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Haryana Chief Minister Mr. Manohar Lal, & Haryana Sports Minister Mrs. Sandeep Singh will also join and address the opening ceremony.
This is the 4th edition of the Khelo India Youth Games – the biggest nationwide grassroots level sports competition in India, started by the Central Government in the year 2018.
Besides them, other dignitaries from Haryana including the State Sports Minister Sandeep Singh will also grace the event. Overall as many as 4700 athletes, including 2262 Girls, will be vying in 25 sports for 269 Gold, 269 Silver, and 358 Bronze medals from the Games, which will start on 4/6/2022 and will go on until June 13. 2022.
KIYG 2021 will see participation from 37 states and Union Territories of India. This will be held in over 5 cities  ( Shahabad, Ambala, Panchkula, Chandigarh & Delhi).  This Gams will feature a total of 25 sports, including 5 indigenous games of India – Kalaripayattu, Thang-Ta, Gatka, Mallakhamba, and Yogasana.
‘The Khelo India Youth Games will play an important role in taking forward Mr. Narender Modi’s ( Prime Minister of India) dream mission, he said adding no stone would be left unturned to make the games a huge success.
We have got a golden opportunity of hosting these games and all arrangements along with setting up the state-of-the-art facilities have been made.  Earlier also three editions of Khelo India have been organized, but I assure you that this time, because of the State’s Hospitality, both the players and the spectators will remember the games for a  long time, ‘ Chief Minister said.
The very next year, Maharashtra state, making the most of their home advantage, shot to the top of the table in the event that was renamed as Youth Games.  They cornered a whopping 85 gold medals to Haryana’s 62 to emerge as the new champions in Pune.  Maharashtra reinforced its supremacy in the next edition in Guwahati too, garnering a total of 78 Gold Medals.
The Rules of COVID -19  will be fully followed during the Sports /Games and full arrangements will be made by the National Anti-Doping Agency for dope testing etc. for the sports person.

Around 8500 Players from Across the Country will Participate

Around 8500 players, coaches, and support staff from across India will participate in the fourth edition of Country  Youth Games 2021.  Players will show their talent for a total of 1866 Medals which include 545 Gold, 545 Silver, and 776 Bronze Medals.  25  different games will be held at five venues. These sports events will be organized in Panchkula, Shahabad, Chandigarh, Ambala & Delhi.  The venue has a seating arrangement for around 7000 spectators.  It will remain the center of attraction for the visitorts.  Apart from this, badminton, Football, Wrestling & Hockey matches will be held on the first day of the competition.
